HQP appoints First Nations Cultural Advisor
Meet Tolita Dolzan
We're excited to announce we have engaged Tolita Dolzan from Gandan Yarnings as HQP’s First Nations Cultural Advisor to work with us on a weekly basis.
Tolita, pictured here at our Toolara Nursery with Phil Rist from North Queensland's Girringun Corporation, is dedicated to building cultural awareness and understanding to support culturally safe relationships. Tolita is a proud Cobble Cobble woman whose Country is western side of the Bunya Mountains. She grew up on Butchulla Country and is now living on Kabi Kabi Country.
Tolita was a significant contributor to HQP’s recently released First Nations Engagement Framework (and wrote the foreword), is a consultant to the FSC Standards and Development Group representing the social chamber, and is an experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educator – we’re lucky she’ll now also be working with us!
Tolita will work for HQP 1 to 2 days a week to provide advice to HQP management, staff and contractors on Indigenous cultural matters and First Nations engagement, including one-on-one and group cultural support, and guidance on culturally sensitive matters. To help facilitate access, one day a month Tolita will work from each of our SEQ field offices at Toolara (first Tuesday of the month), Imbil (second Tuesday) and Beerburrum (third Tuesday) as well as occasional visits to other offices further afield.
You can contact Tolita by using the Contact us form on the website or by calling our Toolara, Imbil or Beerburrum offices
